Bear Peek Productions is the collection of projects written and created by Ann Mahoney, and friends. Ann Mahoney is an actress, writer, and producer looking to diversify and expand the world of storytelling, primarily through television, with a little bit of indie film on the side. Although her life thus far has primarily been rooted in the craft of acting, to Ann - it's all storytelling. As a native of New Orleans, LA, she has grown up in the rich culture of the Paris of the South, alongside her musical family: including her jazz musician father, siblings, and classical musician mother. Her stories come from the myriad experiences she had as a lifelong member of a small church, her deep studies into world religion, her BA and MFA in theatre arts, her work in 9/11 social work, and her absolute passion for all aspects and nuances of what it means to be a human.
As a survivor of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and now the COVID pandemic, she brings a unique perspective to what is dramatic, and how we overcome seemingly unsurvivable events. Every drama she writes contains a great deal of comedy, because that is how she has learned to keep going.... over and over again. Every comedy she writes contains the gravity that allows it to be relatable, no matter how absurd. In all of her stories you will find specificity of character, precise character voices, and atmosphere.... because any story worth telling is, on some level, a TRUE story.
